Beard Care Basics

A good beard is a beautiful thing.  It is a symbol of power, strength, masculinity and patience.  It takes time to grow a good beard, but it also takes some other things to make sure that you are taking care of it properly.  There are so many different beard oil companies and they are all trying to tell you that they have the best products and that they will help you grow the best beard… but we want you to make your own educated decisions. So we put together a few beard beginner tips so you can start your journey to making your beard the best it can be.

Tip One: Oils and Balms

One of the biggest parts of beard care to look at is Beard Oils and Balms.  Every company is going to tell you theirs is the best, so do your research on where and how their products are made. Are they made in a lab or made in someone’s garage? Do they include chemicals you can’t pronounce or all natural ingredients? These products are going onto your face and into your skin.  Make sure you take the time to check out the ingredients of the products that you are looking to buy. That brings us to tip number two.

Tip Two: It’s all about the skin.

First, let’s break the number one myth in beard care. Beard oil is not for your hair, it’s for your skin! Bear oil is made to take care of the skin underneath.  Dry skin is responsible for the worst part of having a beard… BEARD ITCH! But you don’t have to suffer from it.  A key ingredient to eliminate the itch is Jojoba Oil.  Jojoba oil is a carrier oil that is known for its moisturizing, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties.  It is also almost identical to Sebum, an oil that your skin naturally produces, that your body cannot tell the difference, so it does not build up on your skin and clog your pores. We want to stress again… check the ingredients of what you are buying!

It’s the not so little things like ingredients and their quality that really add up to make a quality product that will enhance the look and feel of your beard.
